Schwartz, Metz, Wise & Kauffman, P.A., a law and lobbying firm in Annapolis, Maryland, is pleased to announce the addition of Andrew “Drew” Vetter, Esq. to our firm. Drew will offer his deep wealth of knowledge and experience in State and local government to the firm’s clients.

Drew served as Deputy Administrative Officer in the Office of Baltimore County Executive John A. Olszewski, Jr. from 2018 until July of 2022. In that role, he was responsible for oversight of a portfolio of operational departments of County government, including in the areas of policing and public safety, as well as economic development and land use. Drew also served as the Administration’s lead on labor negotiations and labor relations issues.

Previously, Drew was the Director of the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice in Baltimore City, Chief of Staff and Director of Government Affairs at the Baltimore Police Department, and the Deputy Legislative Officer for former Governor Martin O’Malley.

“Drew represented best in class service to the residents of Baltimore County, bringing an unwavering work ethic, a keen intellect and an unflappable demeanor to his work every day,” said County Executive Johnny Olszewski. “The County is undoubtedly better for his service, and I know that he will excel in his new role, and in everything he chooses to do throughout his career.”

Upon joining the firm on September 1, Drew will assist in representing existing firm clients while also working to grow our base of clients that need assistance with State and local government matters.

Drew is a licensed attorney in Maryland and earned his J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2011. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2005 with a B.A. in Government and Politics. Drew currently resides in Baltimore City with his wife and two children, ages 6 and 1.
